Training will focus on the role of the SKYWARN spotter, weather safety and convective basics.<\/p>\n<p>This training may be used to earn initial spotter certification or renew certification which is required every three years.<\/p>\n<p>Part 1 of Basic Training will be\u00a0 April 4 ; Part 2, April 11. The instructor will be Nick Petro WX3H, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the Raleigh National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>To fully benefit from this training and to receive certification, you must:<\/p>\n<p>A. download the training presentation before each net from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralcarolinaskywarn.net\">www.centralcarolinaskywarn.net<\/a>\u00a0 (It will be included with the Weekly Weather Impact Briefing.\u00a0 Click on the Weekly Weather Impact Briefing on the top menu to download.)<br \/>\nB. listen and check in at the end of both nets, and<br \/>\nC. email CCS Emergency Coordinator Virginia Enzor at <a href=\"mailto:nc4va@nc.rr.com\">nc4va@nc.rr.com<\/a> with your name, call sign (if licensed), and preferred email address. \u00a0The NWS will then contact you about completing the spotter certification process.<\/p>\n<p>Scanner listeners\u00a0and listeners\u00a0receiving live-streaming audio on the internet at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.broadcastify.com\">www.broadcastify.com<\/a> may also participate by downloading the presentations and emailing Virginia Enzor at <a href=\"mailto:nc4va@nc.rr.com\">nc4va@nc.rr.com<\/a> immediately after both nets.
